What I’ve Learned
1. Be organized: losing things sucks. And it can cost a lot of money replacing them or fixing the mistake of not having it.
2. You have to be there for yourself and not assume people are watching after you. Chances are, they’re not.
3. You can do whatever you set your mind to. One of the most difficult parts is deciding what exactly you want, but once you decide, the rest is discipline, dedication, and hard work… which are actually, easy compared to the prior.
4. It’s ok to make mistakes; it’s not the end of the world.
5. Have faith that God will take care of things you don’t have control over. Do your best, and let Him take care of the rest.
6. Give yourself a break. If you do your best, then there wasn’t much else you can do if things go wrong, or you make a mistake. You did all you could and that’s all you could do.
7. Everything happens for a reason. You kept this job for a reason. Whether it’s to earn money or really truly realize that it isn’t right, you had to go through the process and give it time to get to a point where you felt completely ready to let it go. Don’t rush that process; every aspect plays an important role in this experience. Maybe it’s to teach you what it feels like to get stuck at a job you hate for too long, so you’ll never make the mistake again.
